Universal needs

We have been in the process of a learning curve, for more than six years in order to understand what is will improve our lives, what will improve the lives of the community that we live within and honestly came to understand that this also addresses global issues. Our conclusion is that these needs are universal.

The world is in a process of dramatic change. The mechanics of life has become so complex. Interpersonal relationship, despite having better means of communication, is more complex due to the fact that we are exposed to such a wide variety of opportunities to interact.

The environment is at risk, caused by industrial waste and the transportation needs of the community.

It is up to each of us to be creative and collaborative, in order to be the cause of the needed transformation.

We need to be aware of the ecological needs of the planet and have creative platforms to address the needs, in order to make this change a reality.
Let’s pave the way, for all of us to collaborate, at the highest level in our lives making the world as one. We want to make a world in which our future generations will be able to thrive.

Intuitive Communication in the Social Media Age

The media has opened doors and we have become culturally intelligent. The way we communicate and norms of communication have changed. We continually expand our consciousness and modify how we interact within the realm of digital communication.

Social networking tools have given one the ability to upgrade the way one communicates, and have changed the way people view one another. Years ago we were taught not to talk to strangers. Today there is a complete turn about and the whole world has become our “Friend” The Collective Voice.
Is it not incredible to realize that it is less difficult to sustain the cultural differences? There is a shift to cultural diversity and inclusiveness in terms of language, race, gender, and have now no relevance in the context of generational differences as a result of new technology?

The challenge is to bring this valuable tool to all people for them to have direct access to technology, and continue to increasingly be socialized and informed digitally.

There are various styles of communication that individual’s seem to personalize, as well as, styles of communication that are appropriate in certain contexts of use. Communicating directly with another person requires a certain style, approach and understanding of when and how to use a direct communication effectively.

While communication can take place from a single voice, it can also take place from a collective voice a viewpoint or analysis or summary from various sources. Often used in our notes and blogging, taking the place of formal media and journalism.
The message may be transmitted in a unified form; the "voice" is collective.

Communication is intentional. Words, phrases, and sentences, can be formulated with great details and purpose such as in a speech or lecture leaving little space for non-verbal communications or implication.

For the digital world, graphics are just as communicative as words, sounds and integrated media bring together creative art, digital editing, and multidimensional production. Obviously communication is becoming sophisticated and much more complex. Additionally cell phones and micro blogging have led to the challenge of meaning being condensed into the smallest parts of language. The merging of visual and textual communication has produced a kind of communication that requires visual implication within literal words. The words themselves become shortened and even coded into symbolic letters.

Communication is basic to human nature and thinking is inextricably linked to language. A person couldn’t decipher one’s own thoughts without knowing language. Is there something about digitally inspired exchange of language that is currently changing and altering the rules that we use in order to converse, have dialog, and respond to one another?

One such change is that appropriateness is now very customized, in terms of the social use of language, within digital environments. The communities themselves dictate the appropriateness of the language of their members.

The right to search for happiness

Inspired by David Brooks and Gail Collins who wrote an article in the new York times called “Advice for High school graduates”
I have been trying to think of some wisdom I have acquired over the past three decades.
I used to believe life got better as you got older, but now I realize this is untrue. I grew up in a upper middle class suburb in South Africa. We lived in a diverse and well connected community. We all had help at home and everything that one needed to live an extremely comfortable life.
I, too, could mention to them that high school mediocrity is no impediment to leading a happy life. In fact formal education is not necessarily the thing that will bring a person success. I was an extraordinarily mediocre student. I did not graduate in the top third of my high school class. My school books were beautiful. The letters perfectly formed, illustrated with the eye of an artist and a person whose talents led to doing some sort of research.
Writing exams were not my thing and this is the point that brought my marks down. There wasn’t a kind of hysteria that I was not able to cope with exams and I went through school mostly happy but under performing.
Age, and life gave me a certain perspective that has enabled me to upgrade my skills enormously. I learned that I do not need permission to try something new, nor do I need to judge myself too harshly if I fail and carry on trying until I do achieve my goal. That is the point.
School did not teach me to be persistent. Life did!
But I don’t think this message would go over well with the current faculty, or with the younger brothers and sisters in the audience — or at least their parents.

How true a statement, in fact where to we learn that we have an innate right to happiness.
The most important decisions any of us make is who should be our friends, who we marry, how to choose a good profession and how to choose a good environment to work in. Yet there are no courses on how to choose these practical issues.
There are no Institutions of higher learning devote more resources to semiotics than all relationship and love.
The most important talent any person can possess is the ability to make and keep friends. And yet here too there is no curriculum for this.
What young people really need is a lesson in how to choose a spouse and how to make and keep friends. One needs relationship coaching and life skills more than one needs a university.
One needs to know how to use the internet …everything one needs to live and learn is there.

The buzz continues and as I wade my way through piles of information, insights and “expert opinions.”
The truth is that we all have yet to make these possibilities practical, in that they give us leverage in order to expand the real possibilities that are out there.
We are like the first onlookers of the first automobile.
We are the herd trying to get a grip on the new fan dangled platform and learn how to make it work for us…to make it our own.
We want to be the “heard” and take part in the conversation.
When we started working on the vision of Truemanity there weren’t the possibilities that there are today. Our first thought was that the best way to do a marketing campaign was thought the use of e-mail distribution of the message that we wanted to get out.
The character of our innovative business plan is dynamic, and in sync with the possibilities that are happening in the social business arena.
We are way out there with a membership based business, the member also being the consumer and the content generator and having a share in the fruits of the business plan. Truemanity has our crowd using the “cloud.” We have smartened up using the web as the tool, co-creating with collective intelligence of our users who are fired-up about being part of this shift of conscious business. We are social entrepreneurs using all relevant possibilities of community building and collaboration in the most flexible way possible.
Wearing our running shoes and sprinting forward, our race is one of intellect, business acumen, the ability to stay focused on the end result for the community we are building, having the guts to evaluate and make the alterations needed along the way.
Our understanding of the power of additional up-dated social technologies, ways to integrate and simplification of getting around the web is increasing our effectiveness. Peoples digital footprint is becoming of immense value and is starting to be a measure of the persons competence a value very high in the category of life skills that is adding to their worth in all sphere’s of life. It is of relevance to mention that a good digital footprint having the values that was previously given to a university graduate. Now ones value to oneself, the community that one is part of or leads as well as your value as a business person is determined by the size, type and strength of your social relationships that you have accumulated on the ground and the web globally.
People networking want to increase their social standing and value by connecting with like-minded people. The point is that sometimes it is done in a myopic fashion. They are not in touch, with what their aims are, they also do not see that having the space to collaborate and the ability to think in a way that is similar to bartering, is of prime importance in order to advance their ventures.
They want others to share in their endeavors without wanting to hear the other person’s agenda. Most of the social and marketing plans are built in a way that recruiting is the key to development.
Truemanity’s application has taken this into account and has a level of sharing that I have not seen online before. We are truly a “social relationship and business platform.”
Our web content management will be of the utmost relevance to those taking part.
Over time we have learned who our community is and why they chose to join with us. We also appreciate their patience and understanding of the members , while we have been re-evaluating the concept. With a glint in the eye

How does a person feel growing up with the glint of pride in her parent’s eyes, the rest of the audience being three wonderful brothers, a wise and humorous grand- mother? Being a South Africa there also having an empathetic au pair and a gardener as part of the extended family. The next circle was a lovely interconnected community.
It is like arriving at the gates of heaven and being serenaded by the angels. This is what inspires me to work with people, good people that care about others and what to give opportunity to as many as possible. This is my passion…THE HUMAN ASPECT.
In fact, there were times that I was extremely shy, the observer sharpening up the communication skills by way of observation…seeing how people behaved and deciding what is right and what is wrong. Thinking back I was unknowingly sharpening up my skills to weigh up situations and the communication skills. We certainly underestimate how much is heard by children and how this influences their life.
All along our journey of life, we are being honed to live a life of purpose. Yet fear is a constant companion and many a time we do not recognize that it is the first obstacle that blocks our way forward to a life of love and meaning. Fear of death, rejection, success and failure, of love, of commitment even of being all that we can be and are made to be. Why do we not let our light shine…because we will stand out and be different from the crowd?
I always was curious as to what makes the difference in our lives? We make ourselves the way we are so we have we the ability to decide to change. We all have insight and intuition and by understanding and examining our beliefs and attentiveness to the messages we receive from ourselves and others, how we relate to coincidence, we have the map for our life journey.
How do we decide the outcome of our achievements? We need to use our thoughts to progress or they can destroy our plans and thoughts by having what if I cannot do it, what if I fail, what will other think of me….simply being negative and inactive can destroy any potential that a person posses.
I learned use these thought for inspiration by reading wonderful books and putting their content into action in my life… let positive thought and actions lead you in this wonderful journey of life. This lesson I learned at the hardest moment in my life when I got into debt and my business was being confiscated by the bank. I had a choice to hide my head in shame or learn a lesson which I could pass on to others. Guess what my choice was? I did not know exactly what the plan would be yet I made a declaration: “When I come up I will come up so strong and bring many others up with me giving them the opportunity to live better.” To move out and move up is a decision!
I learned how to get results? The only way is with persistence and a long-term plan.
Did you ever ask yourself what is your program for success? My program is to live a life of passion and purpose and passion. One has to BE proud of oneself in one’s life direction.
Everybody is able to move to growth, it was my choice and I grabbed it with both hands
I learned what moved me, motivated me to learn and progress and it was my love of people and the wish to live in a world where people are happy, connected and there is balance and choice in life.
I learned to focus on what I want and to take the first step and then found that things start to fall into place. The right people are attracted to be part of your life and doing things in a collaborative manner enhance the capabilities of all.
Have you ever thought what would you do if you believed that you can be anything you want?
I want to be successful, enjoy life, care for others and have them caring for me. I want to work in the company of smart,innovative people who are willing to lead others and share of their knowledge and I want to share of my knowledge and talents with them. This makes life fun, and it can be compared to a party, and when does one enjoy a party? A party is fantastic because of the people.

We had the honor of meeting Nik Halik.

He was an Greek immigrant in Australia with illiterate parent.

He had the courage to make his dreams come true.

Illiterate does not mean without knowledge for understanding of life. It simply means that one cannot read or write in the language of the country that they were living in.

At the age of eight he wrote down his goals for life and his family kept him accountable.

He chose to leave home at the age of seventeen and go and be a rock star in California. He left Australia with $30,000 that he had earned working as a guitar teacher. This was enough to go to university...he chose his dream path. He did so with amazing success as he is a talented musician.

Nik was certainly was goal orientated. During the day he lead his second life as a savvy business man.

He has had inspiring life experiences. Climbing the seven highest mountains of the world, going to the depths of the Titanic and buying his way as a private individual into the Russian Space program as a cosmonaut.

The man is fearless and he says the reason for his success is that he was held accountable to his goals from early in life.

Facebook ...a defining moment!

A defining moment for me in life was joining Facebook.

This was the time that I decided how I would like to be and what I could be.

I decide that I would learn to be a citizen of the world and befriend those that felt the same.

There were certainly infinite possibilities and the time frame was irrelevant as long as my instinct told me that the people were the right ones to be around.

I felt that one person at a time I was learning about life and sharing what I had to share, while learning more about myself. It is a continuing process of consolidation. It is learning to set goals that I choose to live up to and finding a way to do it no matter what.... Training myself to be disciplined and
running the extra mile when the need arises.

My aim is to have enduring impact on those that I come into contact with. That they remember me for listening to them talking, sharing of myself and life, making each person feel special for being the person that they are and most of all making them laugh with me and bringing happiness into their life.

I love to grab life with both hands and this is what Simon is offering his Friends. Then to spread the concept further out.

Over the last two years I have totally transformed from a mouse to a mega-connector.

I have lived the life that forced these issues to be addressed. It became a choice do I give up or do I go the whole way and make life better not only starting with for my family, my community and globally.

It has been like standing on a main road and deciding to throw myself into the traffic...Or...riding with the traffic...or ...MAKING THE CHOICE TO DIRECT THE TRAFFIC.

It is a matter of choice ..to make a small or a big decision. The guts to take the choice and that to stick to the path until the chosen course takes place.

It turned out to have the same magnitude...at that point in time the whole picture was so bleak that it was "might as well go and choose the big picture."

How to shift a paradigm!

Thank you for asking my opinion.

Where as Chris Macrae and Jeff Mowatt in my opinion both have the intellectual knowledge that is needed and are outspoken advocates of this subject...I have learned this issue form another perspective.

I have lived the life that forced these issues to be addressed. It became a choice do I give up or do I go the whole way and make life better not only starting with for my family, my community and globally.

It turned out to have the same magnitude...at that point in time the whole picture was so bleak that it was "might as well go and choose the big picture."

The internet gave us the platform to reach out to all those interested to participate. In our opinion it was not enough and that is why the concept also has grounded itself with leaders taking the lead and meeting with others for the purpose of connecting via the human touch, eye to eye.

We have had to come up we a manifest and build the vehicle with which to administer the vision. For the last two years we have been working on the substance and how to get it our there.

The low price of reaching millions worldwide, and the simplification of usage of these technologies made it possible for the ordinary person to have a great advantage. The possibility of connecting to and interacting with a world of users has changed the way we perceive the world. Knowledge sharing, potential of selling to or hearing from those people at the same moment when they were reached, promised to overturn established business dogma in advertising, mail-order sales, customer relationship management, and many more areas.

How do we assume that poverty exists only for those in the third world?

There are different levels of poverty and it has a social environmental scale.

Show me how you follow your deepest desires,

to feel the kiss of the Mystery, sweet lips on my own, every day.

Don’t tell me you want to hold the whole world in your heart.
Show me how you turn away from making another wrong without abandoning yourself
when you are hurt and afraid of being unloved.

And together we will remember that each of us always has a choice.

Just a quick thought about the social media...

How much time does the average person invest in the upkeep of their sites and connecting with others?

I see the social value...but the claim to it having monetary value is questionable?

The value I see is that one is able to build a social profile that people understand what you stand for; what your aims are: and what you are doing to meet them and pretty well building an image of you and your enviroment.

This attracts like-minded people and enbles one to go into lively debate about one's world view.

The opportunity to expand one social circle to places;that one would normally not get to know one another; to me is the most exiting aspect.

I am also extremely impressed by the exceptional work of women who have no academic background, some of whom are illiterate, but whose commitment to the well-being of their communities is remarkable.
They enrich their fellow citizens with their good judgment, their knowledge, and their wisdom.
They are key in creating social consensus around difficult, but unavoidable, issues such as family planning, physical integrity of girls, violence against women, access to education, food security, crime prevention and environmental protection.
I must say that I am particularly touched by the way all these women, from such different horizons, can pool their efforts and work towards the common good.
I have always believed that the real power of women lays in their capacity to put forward at all times the human dimension of any given situation. Women nurture that sense of togetherness and foster a strong community spirit.
Empowering women is empowering a nation.

Let’s say it together …
The idea is to believe that we are making a difference. We must seize every opportunity to speak out and to participate fully in the development of society.
We must believe in our dreams and turn them into reality.
We must always believe that everything is always possible.

The world's greatest LIGHT PROTEST will take place on August 7th 2008 - one day before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. At least 100 million people from all over the world will light a candle and say YES for freedom in Tibet!

The Campaign started on facebook from the desktop of David Califa, 52, a retired private individual with an investment banking background, from Ramat Hasharon, Israel. Mr. Califa has been financing it with his own private funds. "Candle for Tibet" has quickly developed into a global movement which operates from a multilingual (25 languages, all translated by volunteers) web site with its own social network alongside.

Mr. Califa has now joined forces with members of Unity Network, a global movement acting to unite and promote love between human beings regardless of their color, nationality, sex, religion or politics. Tibetan diva, Yungchen Lhamo, has recently joined "Candle for Tibet". Miss Lhamo, who is recognized as the "Voice of Tibet", will lead the campaign with her divine voice, music and spirit.

To date more than 500,000 people from well over a hundred countries signed in.

"Candle for Tibet" asks people to put the candle in their windows, desks, or anywhere else where other people will see it and hopefully do the same. Many will participate in candle vigils throughout the world. The light protest is expected to be seen by billions on TV screens all over the world on the day the Beijing Olympics open.

On the following day letters will be issued to every head of state in the world reporting how many people from his country wish Tibet to be free, and demanding that each one of them will act for the freedom of Tibet.

Reasons why Candle for Tibet's light protest is unique:

A light protest is a new global medium which enhances the power of one person to make a stand for a noble cause. It unites millions of people around the world, given a chance to act on a specific moment in time, for a single goal. It is by no means a virtual protest.

It heralds breaking down country boundaries in terms of democracy, and one's ability to 'vote' on an idea. And it brings hope.

It tells individuals, regardless of their nationality, sex, race, political views and religion, that if they unite behind an idea in today's age, they can change their reality.

It is the more significant and effective a poll to which world leaders can refer. (Angela Merkel and Gordon Brown were surely aware of public opinion in their countries regarding the Tibetan issue).

It was never done before (at least not on such a scale) It is non violent unlike many planned protests from now to the Olympics. It is also non profit.

The message is simple: Every human being who cares about freedom has a responsibility of lighting a candle. The act of lighting a candle, being personal and spiritual, is also viewed as a vote. Such massive vote that world leaders will not be able to ignore.

This is a story that tugs at my heart.
My name is Zee and I live in Israel on a suburb on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

At the time I was the owner of a coffee bar in a shopping centre. Being in an isle; I was positioned so I was always aware of the comings and goings in the centre.

One day I looked up and saw a young man at the top of the escalator looking confused. Eventually he came down an at the bottom of the escalator he physically pointed forward and then to the left and right before he decided what would be his next move. At that point there were tears streaming down my face. I pulled at my husband’s sleeve and said “Nobody in the world deserves to be so alone.”

I found out that he lived in protected accommodation and I phoned the institution and asked if he would like to work with me.

The workers were thrilled at my suggestion and came to check us out and sent him with a social worker to a job interview. Twi was twenty-eight years old; of Russian descent: spoke English; Hebrew and Russian and was regarded as being retarded. I saw before me a wonderful young man and he began working with us.

At first the community was suspicious but as they got to know him more and more people came to admire him.

One day another worker of ours girlfriend came and greeted her boyfriend with a kiss. He looked at her wistfully and said "For a kiss like that I would take the stars down from the sky.”

Two more of his friends approached us an informed us that unless we employed them as well they would go on strike.

It took a while for them to persuade the social workers to ask us if we were willing to employ them as well.

Eden was the Israeli Judo champion (Special needs Society) and Ami was Down’s Syndrome.

Ami’s social skills were poor when he came to work with us. He was incredibly shy and used to blush bring red every time a customer spoke to him. He was loyal and very persistent.

Ami had a superb memory. His memory for geography was phenomenal therefore he could tell the most interesting stories about travelling overseas. He was interested in cars and could tell you all the makes that were ever manufactured.

After the first year he went on holiday and on his return he was in a highly agitated state and bright red. He then blurted out “You know that nobody ever took me back to work for them after a year!”

I felt privileged to be able to make these people a part of my life and involve them in the community

In the past the belief was that hard work makes money. Today one sees that not necessarily so. Those that know how to arrange their life and work systematically according to certain universal laws can achieve all that they set out to achieve.
This is where the thought process – money connection comes into action.
Thought is the only power that can produce tangible riches by putting into creation creative energies. A person’s ability to think enables him to make and do anything his mind can conceive but he can take it a step further and connect and work with the powers of the universe. Many people in “The Secret” and in much of the religious doctrine have spoken about trust and faith.
Thinking is a difficult activity to sustain for a prolonged period. In order to progress we have to expand our consciousness and mind the desire to be and do more. The desire for riches is simply the capacity for a better life seeking expression.
We need to cultivate the habit of gratitude as acknowledgement for the life we live and for our capability to give of ourselves and draw our community together for our common good.
Wally Wattles Who wrote “The Science of getting Rich” said that “you must know what you want and be specific and definite.” Once you have formed your vision (set your goal) you must have faith that you will receive it.
By us achieving our vision it enables us to reach out and cooperate with other to bring about better conditions for all instead of competing against one another.
One must act with integrity; steadfastly believe and changes will start occurring from unexpected sources. By giving value to others they will want to work with you and the cooperation will improve the situation for you both.

Wisdom of choice – giving and receiving.
Truemanity came into being in order to fill a gap that exists in community structure; to support the community and give members a viable plan that is implementable. The intention is not just to talk about a new perspective but to shift the paradigm in order to make social change easier.
We as individuals feel we have no power to change the situation and think this is the natural order of things…………. the way of the world. We alter our values and accept the inferior to exist in certain areas of our life. Social structures are based on domination; egotism and competition.
Here we want to address the needs of the individual and the community. We want to create the “something else” that will enhance people’s lives. We want to turn the system around by example and encourage the community to start acting on a different level; a level of their choosing that satisfies their needs and that of their community.
The path we choose is positive interaction. We want to consciously move into the area of giving and receiving in order to satisfy our personal needs and the needs of others. We normally see giving as a way of satisfying someone else’s need or as an alternative in order to get back something for ourselves. It is also hard for some of us to accept a gift because it could make us beholden to someone.
We believe that we have created a new path; evolved a kinder way forward; created a new norm in order to restore human value.
These paradigms can be strengthened and promoted.
Now let’s talk about a subject that in many cultures is taboo to discuss with those that aren’t your closest…….Financial needs………………………….the need for capital to run one’s life. The ability to provide another person with an additional way of supplementing income may be considered a way of GIVING.This allows us to show our caring of each other establishing bonds of communication and community; enabling us to show recognition and gratitude to our community. To extend this further we will be promoting better understanding in the world.
