We in the western world are so sure that our neighbors a have enough!
How do we assume that poverty exists only for those in the third world?
There are different levels of poverty and it has a social environmental scale.
If you live in America and your parents don't have work or you are an resident of Africa and there is not water to grow your food to support your family, how is it possible to measure what is worse?
The idea is to try to have a standard of measurement that is acceptable for all people, give them all the tools to live a better upgraded and sustainable lifestyle.

Value is denominated in money units. Self-worth is often measured by how we are able maintain our families and life style. Financial security means having enough money not to be dependent on good luck or good will. We objectify the world and everything in it and we want to personally own what could be for many in our community to share (in order to be a caring community.) Our money system affects our emotions; relationships and can promote either greed and scarcity or generosity and abundance.
